Se você curte viajar, descobrir outras pessoas e culturas, tem de conhecer o Couch Surfing (surfando no sofá). Trata-se de um projeto que tem como idéia principal reunir pessoas que estejam dispostas a receber turistas em casa e viajar da mesma maneira, sem custos de hospedagem.

O turismo não é a única finalidade do Couch Surfing. Há membros dispostos à organizar festas, eventos e passeios para turistas filiados ao projeto (estes, não são obrigados a hospedar pessoas em casa).

A ligação entre os membros da comunidade é feita pelo site http://www.couchsurfing.com/ que já possui milhares de integrantes: 200 países, 11 mil deles do Brasil. No site há ferramentas de proteção com o objetivo de preservar a segurança dos integrantes que informam se seu sofá está vago ou não. Os inscritos no projeto devem comprovar endereço e são avaliados por outros usuários por meio de comentários.
